So where should I be hunting?

Went for a walk through this thicket hoping one or had been knocked off but no luck.

Way to much snow here for any serious shed hunting yet. More snow coming in the next week.

We’re finding them in fields, along fence lines, or ditches. Anywhere they might have to jump or run off from. Found a few decent ones so far and one matched pair, but still seeing some bucks on camera with theirs.

Anywhere the deer are wintering. Bedding spots, feeding areas, and the trails between these two spots. It's a game of percentages. They will likely drop their antlers in the areas they spend the majority of their time in January-March. You just have to snoop until you find those areas.

I may be getting close. I jumped a bunch today. There was nothing then suddenly there were deer running.

Yep, you're in the right area then. Up here you know you're in a deer yard when the trails you're walking on are continuous poop trails. Keep hiking, you'll find one.

You gotta be where bucks are to find sheds. I know that’s pretty obvious sounding. We’ve scooped 37 this winter as of today, the majority of them on food sources.

Found a few walking deer trails over the years but mostly see em from the tractor seat laying around fields. Found one matching 8 pt set yrs ago at a pond watering spot.

We scooped 11 in the last two days. Three came from food sources and the other 8 from the timber. Almost all the timber sheds were away from the trails in areas with either sign of browsing or bedding.
