I will go first, fishing line and hook, I have been fishing for over 50 years and with 4lb fluorocarbon line with top quality rod/reel, I still have a problem catching fish LOL I sure would rather have a line and hook than have to make my own line and hook. In a good pond, I can catch a whole lot of eatable fish with just a line, hook and bait.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Some people’s brains. Some people thinks, they can hunt, fish, trap and make a garden! When they have never done it before!

I always carry a deck of cards. If I am lost I sit down and play solitaire. Without fail someone will walk up behind you and say "Hey dummy, play the red seven on the black eight!"
I have nothing clever to put here.

Bic BUTANE lighters don't work well at sub zero temps. The gas won't ignite very well.
Thays why!

I dont do survival camping. I take what I need to be comfortable. Why would you leave to someplace remote, even for just a few hours, without the stuff you might need? 1/2 dozen MRE's, toilet paper, some bottles of water, kitchen match's and storm proof matchs, a come along, a hi lift jack, some log chains, shovel, axe, tool kit, penetrating oil, starting fluid, duct tape, bullets, live in my pickup year round. Often have spare coat gloves socks and bibs too.
all that playing around with tarps for tents and plastic emergency blankets is for people who watch to much tv.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

lighters and electronics need to be kept in inside pockets so your body heat makes them warm
also 2 is one and 1 is not , for fire starting more than 1 way , a bic and matches , Zippo also , can of zippo fuel.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Ever try to light a Bic lighter when you most need it.When its COLD outide. They wont light.Believe me.Wont light if they got wet either. If the flint is wet that is a big issue. If it's too cold I usually warm mine up in my hands. I usually keep them in my various pockets preferably inside pockets. If I'm sleeping the bic stays in the sleeping bag. The extra I keep in my backpack I keep that in the hydration bladder pocket which is against my back.
