il.trapper OP trapper I Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 2,269 West Central Illinois	Any of ya good folks ever buy a replacement battery? Do they work and last? I have a samsung galaxy JV36 phone. It has not been charging right since yesterday. I have tried different cords, chargers, and even tried charging off my Desk top. Only way it will charge is if I put it in safe mode. I found a replacement battery for a decent price, if that is what I need. But I have no idea if it is. Any suggestions?

If the battery will charge in safe mode, then to me it seems the problem is not the battery. Does the store where you got your phone do diagnostics and repair? Mine does. The 3 Mini's were our first smart phones and were not the latest model by any means when we got them, but they lasted us about 7 years with the replacement batteries. You do have to shop around because a brand new battery looks no different from an old used up battery, and often times the batteries are no longer made. The replacements we got lasted fairly well but eventually crapped out plus the phones were not working very well anymore due to becoming obsolete. Our new Galaxy S20's don't even have a replaceable battery. The phones work very well but when the battery dies, the phone is toast. All that said, I agree with KenaiKid, if it will charge in safe mode, the problem is NOT the battery.

Some of them will work on phones. If you have a Best Buy store around talk to their tech dept. Even if they won't work on it they can probably refer someone.
