I think maybe you misunderstood what Robinhood is saying. The 1% reference is related to market orders, and is just a collar that they use to try to limit volatility.

Use a limit order and it looks like you can specify either a dollar amount or a fractional amount of a coin.

The Robinhood site says the minimum order on BTC is 0.00001 coins

Do you have adequate funds in the account to cover the trade ?

Maybe try entering the order as a limit dollar value rather than as a fractional coin

I had a chance to buy at $200 per bitcoin and I passed. Wasn't much you could do with it at that time and is seemed like a good way to just throw money down a hole. Still seems that way to me today.

Sounds like you're talking about US Federal Reserve Notes...

Bitcoin is over rated. I've invested money in cryptocurrency and it only took 37 days for me to double my money on my investment. If you want to make money in crypto do your homework. If you know where to invest you can double your money in a hurry. I sold enough to get my money back I invested and now I just let it ride. Since I sold and got my money back I've seen what I still hold increase by 31 percent in the last 2 weeks. The down side to crypto is it goes up and down very fast. It can drive you nuts watching it and trying to time it out. If what I still hold hits half of what bitcoin is currently at, life will be good for me and my family. Just today what I hold was forecaster to surpass bitcoin within 10 years.

There was a time when Bitcoin was selling for $0.0008 per Bitcoin. If you invested $10,000 in Bitcoin at that price, it would now be worth a bit over $625 Billion Dollars .

Hate to break it to you but there was a thirty day period in December/January bitcoin doubled. It will double again and a factor of 10x more is plausible

When it was that low there weren't enough coins in circulation to invest 10 grand

Some will..Many of them move the same direction bitcoin does. I doubt few will get to bitcoin's price levels.

Most anyone who bought 1000 Bitcoin in 2010 most likely lost their private keys or sold long ago. They likely had no clue what they had and treated it as such. In those days Bitcoin could have "went to zero" on numerous occasions Today not so much as it has become very anti-fragile.

Bitcoin is the greatest savings technology to ever exist. When used properly, you are in full control of your wealth. Unlike your USD which almost entirely controlled by someone else. Visa could shut you off easily, your bank can limit withdraws, your stock broker owns "your" stock certs, etc. The cash in your pocket is all you really control. Bitcoin is digital cash.

Crypto, blockchain, "the next bitcoin", tokens, ICO's, DeFI, "a better bitcoin" are all almost entirely scams that exist to enrich insiders, confuse noobs and steal your bitcoin or USD. Nothing has even been remotely as tested as bitcoin. Nothing is even remotely as decentralized at bitcoin. Nothing can scale like bitcoin.
