BFP OP trapper B Joined: Dec 2014 Posts: 605 North Dakota	I bought some .17 rem. Brass from a guy and it is .223 necked down to .17. Is this stuff safe to load and shoot in a .17 rem?

70sdiver trapper 7 Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 1,749 eastern washinghton	I formed on out of .223 brass it’s about 40 thousand short in the neck but it measures correctly at the shoulder.I’m doing a build on a savage axis and it looks like I’ll have to try and fire one as I can’t even find a single piece of used brass.

Ridge Runner1960 trapper R Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 3,903 eastern WV	Think what you have is called the 17 predator, think its too short for a 17 rem. 17, 222 rem. mag, and the 204 are the same basic cases. let me check some drawings. edited to add: It will work, will end up about .040 short. may have to turn the necks depending on your rifle.
