I having big scopes and ballistic programs is nice and all but something sure is fun about hitting small targets at distance with iorns
Took my 521-T out to the cow pasture to shoot like I used to when I was a kid ( dad put out a old Oxygen tank and some random odds and ends thay made dinging sounds for me to shoot )and decided to put a 4" gong out at 100 and see what I could do off a front bag. 5 rounds to see what was going on and Ding Ding Ding
Wish .22lr was easier to find because I probably could have sat out their all evening with a bulk pack of thunder bolts just plinking away lol but figured a hand full was more than enough. Filmed it all too with three separate camera (one on me one on the long view out to the target and one right at the target ) so guess I'll go edit those together and hopefully have it posted soon

Not sure about this year, but the previous years Midway had some good sales on bulk .22 ammo. I’ve bought 1,000 rounds or better every Spring for the last several years.

I am seriously thinking about starting to shoot my iron site guns from the hip. With my fading eyesight, it can't hurt. I see far just fine. I watched a video of a WWII marine who went to the South Pacific and was issued a M1 Garand. He taught himself to shoot it from the hip like some would do with a Browning BAR. He was deadly with it that way.

That's some good shootin' and looks like fun. I've found my old eyes do a lot better with a nice rear peep like you have on that 521-T than with open irons.

I agree I wish I could find 22lr decent now , I think most of the time I could actually be happy just playing 22s when you get between 100 and 200 and you start having to make wind calls , it is good training.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I did some shooting today also. I went out to the hunting cabin Saturday morning, figured my last trip till meltdown as snow is getting quite deep. Truck was pushing snow with the bumper most of the half mile in. I was shooting that $99 Walmart 12 gauge, that didn't blow up in my face...Lol Shooting it with slugs using some Tru Glo turkey sites that screw to the vent rib. I have 100 yards marked and was shooting a solid 65 yards and putting them all in a 5 inch circle. Smooth bore 28 inch modified choke. Breneke KO slugs. I too still like iron sites. But my eyes have to focus and squeeze it off, if I fiddle around more than 15 seconds or so, then yeah that front site starts playing games. Anyhow the cheap shotgun will kill a deer or pig at the ranges I mostly hunt.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!
