Worked with a few Petroleum engineers from Marietta College, that program was rated high 30 years ago, not sure about current rating. I know the placement office was diligent at getting students summer intern jobs in their major.

I did construction on their athletic facility about 17 years ago or so. The demo if the old facility and foundations for the new, so I don't know how it turned out

I can't help much except the area had a small town feel, seemed laid back.

It was minutes from the interstate, and easy to get out of town into nature if that matters.

I live about an hour away now.

I can’t add much. I only live 45 minutes away and always forget its there. Its not a stereotypical college town, just a normal small midwestern river town. Which I think is good, kids may not. LOL

Its about an hour up the river, oddly I only know one of person that went there and he was two years ahead of me. Then again, the high school there was one of our more intense sports rivals. Theyve had a pretty good D-3 baseball program

Thank you for the insights. The river is why she is looking at it. She is a rower and they have a pretty good rowing team. She is also considering the University of Oklahoma but I am pushing her to branch out.

I just drove through that area yesterday. I haven’t heard of very many people going there. Unfortunately I can’t give you any solid info on the college itself. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but Ive heard that the Ohio river is very, very polluted?

There is another one running through town. I can't remember the name and mispronounced it the whole time I was there.

Muskingum river.

Don't feel bad, there's usually two or three camps regarding the pronunciation of place names around here.

Then again...most of the eastern part of the state is actually considered a minority group so we can't be criticized about it.

I have a place on the muskinghum river about 30 miles north of Marietta. All I can add is the deer hunting is good and they are some huge catfish in the river. Good luck to her wherever she decides

My daughters college volleyball team plays Marietta girls volleyball team. Their coach and the girls on their team seem to be a class act.
