I just read that Fauci said we may now have to go into 2022 before we regain any normalcy with this virus and need to wear masks into next year. I thought with the vaccine this was all supposed to end by May with herd immunity or at the latest by the end of summer. I also just heard a report they don’t even know if the present vaccine will be effective against the new strains of the virus emerging. Is this all becoming a gimmick with the government or don’t they have any idea what is going on?

It has been a gimmick from the start. First 2-3 weeks was all it took for the feds to figure just how much power they could gain with the help of a few liars and the press.

It worked so well stealing this election why not keep it going until the midterm election? Maybe they can push 100% mail-in voting and make in-person voting illegal. For the good of the people and keeping folks safe and all that.

If 30-40% of us don't get COVID or get vaccinated we won't obtain herd immunity nearly as fast as medical and science staff hoped we would and thus they will error on the side of caution. The real debate then is should they or should they not, but there were many talking about herd immunity almost a year ago but now don't feel we should go there either.

Restaurants and bars were packed Friday and Saturday evening in my little part of se SD. The Mexican place in bedroom town was so packed on Friday evening that it made us a little nervous so that we went into Soo Foo to find a place maybe a but quieter. I went past the bar in the little unincorporated community just outside of bedroom town at 6:30 Saturday evening and it was packed. And the rates of covid in South Dakota has fallen substantially since Christmas. Still lose too many older folks but hopefully that straightens out better. Our real estate market is hot. I've had more than one realtor group send me a letter saying if I want to sell my house, they have potential buyers lined up. People are voting with their feet...

From what I have seen, we may achieve herd immunity by April. That is in line with what some of our local medical people are saying also.
