if you look at the time line for Chavez to go from newly elected prez to citizens starving and being run down by armored vehicles and shot in the streets was what about 15-17 years

I believe it is already irreversible, the venezuela analogy is good but I am not sure it is 100% applicable......I need to think on that for a bit but it is a good response for sure, appreciate it.

My relatives in Italy have all the same fears we have right now. I think the whole world is threatened. I hope Ragnarok is soon.

I think all smart people have fear about what IS happening right now.

I do not think God decides day to day affairs, he does give us the tools to shape those affairs thou.

It is tough to keep this non-political but I will try....

I am really afraid of what is going on now and where it will go in the future. It appears that "they" have been setting up for this for a longer time and with greater strength than even I imagined. I guess my trust that life will go on as usual, despite periodic periods of discontent in our country, and even in the world, may have been misguided and the arrival of the cavalry, whomever that may be, may already be too late.

We are facing very strong foes from a variety of directions, more than I have seen in my 67 years. These foes are insidious in nature and apparently will stop at nothing to gain ground on much of what we hold dear. They have been steadily advancing into our lives as we figured nothing will happen and life as we currently know it will always go on. I do not use the term "foes" lightly as they, with their beliefs, norms, and mores are perfectly willing to attempt to force my life, and that of my family, to change in many ways that are incongruent with my values. They are already in our schools, churches, organizations, government entities, and probably in our backyards.

Not real sure where this is all going or if there actually is a cavalry to pull or guide us out of this mess. I sure hope there is a cavalry but have decided that I will continue to live my life as I have but with an increased awareness and caution of where my foes may strike next so at least I can develop a defense as an individual but also in support of whatever defenses we may still have. I think the next few years are going to tell us a lot and I truly hope we can maintain the lives we have all enjoyed.

This may have all sounded like paranoid ramblings but the events of the past couple years have been both enlightening and frightening.
