There sure are a lot of those shows these days but if you want to know what it is truly like in Alaska, I mean the real way it is up there, watch Alaska Bush People. Spot on. laugh

Is there a way to get land in Canada or is it all locked up with registered trap lines and such that seem pretty tough to get a hold of.

Old lady is kinda crude!! I call my better half woman or old woman. She answers to both. I prefer to be politically incorrect. In my defense I am called man or old man which I prefer over some of the others I'm called!!! All of which are well deserved.

I teach the grand kids to call my wife Old Granny from the time they can talk.
My wife is used to it now. Have a new 3 week old to try it on next. The last grandchild called here that for about a year before it wore off.
The best was in a store or something and the grandkid would say old granny and someone would hear.
I would get That Look then.

About the same as Alaska, Some long term leases come up, Some Private parcels in the Crown land areas for sale. No more Homesteading and the Government is not big on selling any. They are still trying to figure out how much they need to give back to the natives to honor the treaty's they broke.

All kinds of land for sale in North Eastern Ontario-cheap too.
Some Chinaman from Toronto had 400 acres for sale on the North Driftwood river-both sides of the river, timbered.Off the dead end of an old concession road.
There are quite a few "hermits" back in the bush off the old remote concession roads. Most of the land is 160 acre parcels(abandoned farms gone back to the gov't for taxes owed). Some have been logged, and are real cheap.
Not many locals interested in buying land here as there are thousands of miles of crown land to use.Why buy?
Google Dignamland-it will give you an idea of the type of vacant property available all over Northern Ontario.

Yes Americans can buy land here.
I think if you google vacant land in Northern Ontario something should come up.
