walleyed woke up early Monday morning at 1:00AM
to get a drink of water for his dry mouth from his Bi-pap
machine and noticed a stiff jaw and difficult swallowing,

Tongue was acting funny and seemed stiff or almost paralyzed.

Went back to sleep and woke up again with more dry mouth,
and took another drink of ice water but couldn't swish it around
in my mouth with my tongue.

Looked in the mirror and was shocked to see my tongue had
swollen to fill my entire mouth, It was at least 3" inches thick
and 4" inches across, and I was have trouble getting air through
my mouth or swallowing.

Called my buddy in Sandy Creek and He drove to the hospital
in Watertown, NY. to the Emergency room.

The attending Physician took one look at my tongue,
and gave me a shot of steroids and told me if it got any worse
they would have to intubate me to keep my airway open.

I brought in my meds with me and he determined (best guess)
that my Accupril statin drug taken to control high blood pressure had caused
an allergic reaction.

An hour later they gave me a blood plasma transfusion
to flush the build up of the accupril drug in my blood stream.

By 10:00AM, the swelling in my tongue had subsided
and everything was back to normal.

They kept me for the day and discharged me at 12;30PM today.

Scary situation.

I'm still here though laugh

I'm allergic to a host of different things. Like you one blood pressure medicine (Lisinopril), ibuprofen, berries,etc...
You best be carrying an EpiPen from now on. I quit going to the hospital and self medicate now. EpiPen, Prednisone, and liquid and pill form benedryl. Get ready to sleep after all that. Hope everything works out for you. That EpiPen can save your life out on the muskrat line.
