Let's start a thread with our best Matt Jones stories in hopes of his reappearance here on Tman! Spent a long weekend 7 or 8 years ago trapping eastern Kentucky with Matt and his friend Les. Was an entertaining trip and I learned a lot about the topography in Kentucky along with the the hospitality of all those I met. There was a toilet paper shortage at that time caused by Matt Jones himself as he contracted beaver fever a few days before I arrived. He fertilized a lot of ditches as we made our sets and checked them the next few days. Almost felt sorry for him as he lost a good dozen pounds dropping his trousers every 3 to 4 miles in that week. He taxed poor Les' septic system as well

The fever really took its' toll that week as you can see in Matt's knees the struggle he had lifting that bobcat!

... here’s my Matt Jones story... never met the man but bought a VHS of one his trapping videos as a young man... his techniques worked great around here in the pine woods.. got on trapperman and found he was here ... he cracked everybody up with his post and shared good info

... one day I posted my deep water jugline catfish system and he unsolicited sent me a dvd of how to really stack up cats...still have it....




... now Matt I’ll admit I’m still not jumpin lines out the back of the boat... but that big bag of red circle hooks are still catching cats lol

Same here Savell, got one maul handle that’s probably up to around 350 yotes. My Matt Jones dvds started me numbers of yotes. Don’t use many of those techniques today but they sure did kill them back in the day. Come on Jones you had the best stories on Tman.
