So a buddy of mine has been getting pics every 3-4 days of a Bobcat and asked if I would come make a couple of sets in front of the camera and he’d monitor it.
Tuesday, after Monday’s rain I went and placed a PDS in front of the camera and a dirt hole set off to the side up the road a little.
Of course, deer were the first to visit, lol. [Linked Image]

Wednesday evening I get a text we had just caught a coon. I checked the radar and figured I had enough time to take care of the coon and reset the trap before the rain started. [Linked Image]
I didn’t refresh any bait or lure and just gave it a shot of bobcat urine. Well after 1.5” of rain, the cat came through this morning...and got caught!

This is the last pic as my buddy was driving down to experience his first cat in a trap, lol.

Nice pics. Trail cameras really showed me how much I didn’t understand about how animals work sets. Caught my first bobcat this year and it spent over 5 minutes checking two sets I had there before stepping on a pan. Was interesting to watch.

This was his cam and the pics were just the ones he sent me. I’ll get with him later to see if he had the cat or coon working the sets before caught. I just thought I’d was cool to have pics of the bobcat walking the exact path for weeks and then catching him.

That’s really neat. I love putting trail cameras over sets, but it will hurt your feelings on occasion!!

Very cool! The first bobcat I caught was last season. I put in a coyote set, put up a covert (2 pm), and got a bobcat and a bunch of hen turkeys gathered around him by 6pm.

Some days I think I could trap anything anytime. Others I wonder if I’ll ever make another catch...

I was just telling my buddy that I have drove up on turkeys surrounding a bobcat in a trap and deer standing around stomping at a caught coyote. Guess it’s there version of the last laugh.

I’m sure the turkeys will be appreciative of the cat gone...

My buddy sent me a pic about 2045 last night and said I think we caught something, lol. Look at top pic.

It took me a minute, but realized it was a fox. Decided to go ahead and take care of it and reset. Glad I did because deer had tripped the other set.

I remade that exact set since he didn’t tear up the set too bad.
