I know that powder, primers and bullets are hard to come by but did not realize it also extended to dies.
I have looked everywhere I can think of for .45 acp dies and no luck.
Any suggestions?

Thanks, Zim

it extends to molds , furnaces , presses , scales , everything that could possibly be needed in reloading

MidwayUSA has sold out of 8mm rem mag dies I had in my cart waiting for other components to be available before ordering. Really didn’t think 8 mag dies would sell out.

I got lucky and found some 7mm-08 dies in early Dec for a rifle I had bought some time earlier. If I had waited they would have been all gone but it doesn't matter now, I can't find the bullets I want to load.

Everyone laughs when I say it, but can't believe these manufacturers are out of everything.

Its not like this is something new, been a shortage for several decades now. There's something bigger going on.

Just in time shipping , just in time manufacturing and any one thing goes wrong any where in the supply and delivery chain and it isn't in time.

wife works for a mill work manufacturer they make doors at her location , between employees out , shipping issues , snow storms in places that don't normally get more than an inch. lumber supply issues , hardware supply issues and huge demand for doors , over the summer it was a glass shortage , ply wood shortage , the supply line is designed for a normal year ,this was anything but a normal year the last 12 months.

Lee precision is in Hartford WI 85 total employees if you have a fairly common break down of labor maybe 45-50 of those people make product then and your steadily busy every one working 8s every day for years. then the world goes nuts and 4 10s and an 8 probably isn't enough increase in production. add in everyone has to wear a mask , work farther apart , if one person tests positive a bunch have to take a time out till they test negative.

the place my wife works at made 50K more doors in 2020 than 2019 that is how crazy the demand it. they had to bring on a second shift half way through the year and they had the floor on mandatory 10s all summer 50 hour weeks wears people out. it wore my wife out the weeks she was on 10s

when your labor can only do 20% more in a week and your demand is 30% higher it all falls behind.

Ok, try to find a caliber like 30 Nosler or 300 PRC. I was lucky and you have to be a little resourceful. I found one set at on eBay at a decent price and I bought the other set the seating die on eBay and the sizing die at north land shooters supply. I’ve found bullets Ammo at pretty much normal prices everywhere from gun broker to various on line dealers. It just takes some time and determination.

Well, from the way it looks, when the shtf, the general population should have a reasonable amount of firepower.
I hope everyone is willing to use it.
