Please buy a better vechile. Please.

Ranger timing belt sets are cheap just a pain because the A/C parts are in the way when you go to change them. Them 4 cyl seem to hold up well with the higher miles.

Be prepared to be shocked, I have been looking for a used superduty, diesel, 2012s will cost you 2/3 of new. 2016s are within 8gs of new.

All vehicles have potential for problems. Maintenance and repairs are just part of driving. Vehicle prices are ridiculously high. So much so I spent $5700 having a jasper rebuilt motor, ac, radiator and a few other things replaced on my 97 single cab 2wd ranger. The truck is not worth half what I spent on it but I would not have got much of a truck for that same money. Now at least I have a 3 year 100k warranty on the motor.

Cash for clunkers took a lot of good used vehicles off the road and limited the supply of them driving up prices. Add in New vehicles cost as much or more than I paid for my first house on two acres it makes the crazy prices for 200k mile trucks look ok. It's all folks can afford. Don't forget to add in the high inflation the government said is not happening.

Almost anyone can have a decent vehicle if they have a job.
The bank has lots of money to lend,(interest rates are as low as they have ever been) unless you have bad credit.Just stay within your budget.
NEVER borrow from loan shark companys or shady car dealers.

The more i look into toyotas, the more im thinking a LOT of their high price is the cult following from granola people. I get they run high miles, but the frame issues are worrysome. You would think a company would fix the problem, but from what ive read, the frames can be junk til fairly late years. So, if youre looking for a tacoma or older tundra from the midwest, id look for one with a new frame. With that, 200k miles wouldnt scare me.

My neighbor just offered me his 2017 1 ton Super duty (Gas) 82xxx miles. I had to pass because of what the dealership offered. Uh - Seriously, I might as well just buy a new one.

Any fairly new(couple-3 years)used vehicle with low mileage is not much lower in cost than new
A lot of people lease vehicles now and turn them over at around 50-60 thousand km.These vehicles are on sale on a lot of lots here for almost same price as new.

maintenance is just part of it.. I had a ford ranger that had 300,000 before I got rid of it. still coulda drove it. had a black ranger with 200,000 some and stuff starting breaking in the front after I looked im surprised I could still drive the thing. sold for 900. lots of small things needed done but not bad truck for around town.

got a 2007 honda ody, replaced transmission, belt, ac compressor and block / and yesterday I replaced the radiator and thermostat... just part of life dude. you use it, it breaks.

just do reg maintenance on whatever you get. every vehicle will have its own issues people talk about... I think you need to get a horse and buggy. get 100,000 miles on a set of wheels and the engine is good for a long time!

if you get a vehicle with high miles you better expect to start fixing stuff.

I don’t understand your questions but if you like the pickup you have why not take the time and money to fix what’s wrong with it and then you know what you have instead of buying someone else’s problems.
In your past post I can not understand why you don’t find a good reliable mechanic that you trust and have the vehicle repaired????

Just bought ex mans for a 350, 50 bucks each new, 10 for new bolts.
these days a regular guy probably best to pay payments and insurance
than "try" to work on his own.

Friend bought new 1 ton 4x4.
He said one brand was 5k more than the other.
Hear-say but yikes 5k?

Well apparently there not such a super deal if your fixing them all the time. Your buying other people’s problems, you get what you pay for!!
You may have a Mechanic issue????
My last truck purchase was a 1988 F250 4x4. I bought it from a local junkyard last fall and drove it home. This spring it will get a remanufactured motor with new belts and hoses. New tires and brakes. Junkyard made a little off of it and when I’m finished it will fit my needs. I’ll know what I’ve got when I’m done.

I think that's the route I'll go too. I have a 97 250 4x4 that's rusty and needs some love, only has 47k on it. I'm gonna start looking for a southern cab and put a flatbed on it. Do a bunch of work on it and keep the ole girl.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Used pickups are not worth the money they are asking recently. With most dealers offering 0 interest if you qualify and only a percent or two if you don't, its hard to justify buying used and not new.
Then ya know what ya have.
