Coming back from Florida we came up on an accident around Atlanta. Traffic was backed up for miles. I stayed with traffic that was moving in this two lane road between lanes. Kept seeing signs we needed a peach pass or was going to have to pay a fine if caught. My BIL was following us in another car and they followed the detour on their phone. We made it to our hotel an hour and a half before them while they got detoured into Atlanta.


9 months later I got a $25 bill in the mail. We were bumper to bumper traffic in those lanes so those cameras must be fast! Read in there that they have people go through them manually. That must be a boring job.

Best $25 I ever spent though.

NYS just went to cash less tolls, 30% surcharge plus processing fee if you do not have Easy Pass.

You people sound like a bunch of theifs-pay your friggen bills like everyone else.

Hiw is not paying there bills besides me when I tried my experiment to see if it worked? Bow dose someone from out of state with no prior knowledge of or how to get a pass get one while driving?

The last trip I made to the Chicago area without an I-pass cost me over $40 in a pickup pulling a trailef. The trip before with no trailer but the tailgate down was free. Camera angle must not have been able to read the plate.

there were no staffed toll booths since covid began a year ago. my cousins from up north WI traveled down to TN having not really every gotten into ILL they had no idea about the tolls well they just drove through with no other option , ILL sends you a bill in the mail 12 dollars in tolls and a 40 dollar service charge.

The entire toll system has boggled my mind since elementary school. i mean we have the tax system to pay for public services and then we decide certain major services like big roads are extra. They have to be paid per use and out of pocket. I have been poor 90% of my life and the cost of these tolls from my perspective is harse. As a child living in Virginia I remember my mom scrambling for the change to throw into the bin to make the barrier raise. It was not a small cost then and it is great now. Talk about keeping the poor limited in life! How about travel options!

Rm u mist have got on the new 540. I mistakenly got on it one time and camera flashes get your plate. Got the bill in the mail. Its the only toll rd i know of in NC

dont care though, we have ez pass for personal vehicles and ezpass+ in work vehicles

Pa is going to this in some form. My understanding is that on toll roads you'll still get a ticket when you get on. Then when you get off they'll take your license plate picture, then send you a bill. You then look at your ticket and send in the ticket and the proper fee for the exit you got off at.

If you lose the ticket then you have to pay the max for the exit you got off at.

Thankfully don't have any toll roads in Iowa.
