Was able to shoot at our black powder league this morning. Even though it was light rain, the temperature was great. I shot my Kibler SMR today (.45) caliber. It was the second time I shot this rifle since putting it together back in April and actually shot it in June. My 25 yard target was my highest score to date, my 50 yard is still my nemesis though. I shot a cast roundball .445, .20 patch, Mr. Flintlock lube and 50 grains of Old Ensford 3Fg. My 25 yd number 3 bull was my best shooting today.

I really need to shoot more than once a month for sure! Especially the 50 yd range. Tough to see the sights and target with these old eyes. [Linked Image]

Nice shooting! He makes some nice kit guns, beautiful rifle. Is your league off hand shooting only?

Yes, off hand only. 3 shots per bull at 25 yd and 5 shots on the 50 yd range.

I've heard lots of good things about those Kibler kits. Yours is great. And your shooting is pretty good also.

50 yards was tough for me for a long time. Lots of bench time testing loads and patches really helped

Gotta love a Kibler SMR. If I didn't already have a decent .45 long rifle I would be putting one together.

Good looking iron Don!

When you got your kit did it have the Kibler CNC made lock? Or was it the Chambers(?) lock?

It is Jim's CNC made lock - it is very fast and sparks really well.

Osagian you could always build a .40, .36, or .32 Kibler SMR laugh
