Need some ideas guys, trying to do some stuff that's not , well not sure the proper trerm but stuff other than " how to make the best dirt hole" or how to dig a pocket set. Those things in my opinion have been beat to death ( and alot are super opinionated imo). Like right now I've got to edit up a video on how to make your own rebar stakes with and without a welder, since I have really seen anyone do a good detailed video on the subject. Anyhow y'all got any ideas ? So far on the list is got
DIY Trap Drags A to Z
DIY Double Door cage trap
How to Canadian Jaw a Standard trap
Diy trap swivels
Amateur hog snaring
and a few others but looking for more ideas.
I don't catch much so I can't really do anything on sets or anything like that , I just don't feel like I have enouth knowledge to do more than explain how SOMEONE ELSE makes a set. And I have alot of ginger guys who watch my channel and I'm not trying to come across as some master trapper or something. but curious as to whats something y'all would like to see?

Personally I'd like to see
cheap and easy bait and lure
Detailed videos on reading sign
Making trapping tools or alternatives to things like trapping hammers

I just enjoy watching trap lines being checked. And to be honest I like seeing the good, bad, and ugly. Show me the catches and running the line with no catches. Show the actual land. I don’t have to see remakes, I do like seeing the sets though after the remake or even sets waiting on a catch.
I started out watching these videos of guys catching everything. Finally realized they’re just showing their catches and it may be on multiple days. Stuff like that makes a nubie feeling “inadequate” if you will. Show that you have to have critters in order to catch said critter. But that’s just me, opinions will vary I’m sure.

Wolf, I think ive watched all your videos on here and enjoyed all of'em.
We've kinda watched you grow up and I think all respect the man you've became.
As many as you've already done, I'm sure it's hard to find stuff, but I'm sure you will
and we will all be waiting on your next 1. Keep being the man you are...and we'll keep
watching. Thanks for all you do...

I don't know if this is considered trapping but I would like to see how you catch catfish on a trot line or jugging...I think you have done something similar in the past.

Different ways to prep traps. I know you dont wanna make actual trapping videos on the line, but id like for someone who is qualified to make a k9 video focusing in depth on location in the midwest, including google map views. I get bored with watching remakes. If location isnt on you wont have remakes to make.

Really depends on the audience your trying to get to, beginners, some who have a little experience or even some old boys with years of experience. Real good detail for beginners: Ex. Met a young man trying to learn on his own that was trying to make a floating mink box, downloaded the diagram from Fur harvesters, didn't say how wide of a board to use, and couldn't figure out how to get a 6 inch opening, which way the boards went, and was trying to use 1/4 inch plywood, Many of the you tube videos, I think are made for people with some experience not really beginners, or someone who doesn't have the the benefit of a mentor.

How about a video starting with "google" maps. Point out the features amd where to look for sign, then show actual area from the map, then show trap placement. Macro to micro vid.

This, I talk to many who can't see "the big picture" of just how wildlife moves through the landscape and how this creates the pinch points and bottle necks that make for trap in front of the animal sets.

Well y'all hate to say it but dosent seem like I'm half way qualified to make most of those lol. Especially for beginners. Seems like I gotta go explain to beginners more and more frequently I'm not an expert just because I make videos lol. Seems the common thought process now days is if somone makes a video their expert and should be followed word for word.

That being said I am planning on doing some cat fishing stuff, rod building ,more reloading ,casting ,prepping ,and net making but as far as trapping guess it's gonna be spare for a while lol

Honestly I think I could do something similar but I think I'd have to get some trail cams involved because I can't read sign worth anything lol. But thanks for the idea

Well how about some nuts and bolts why wildlife must be managed. I've tried to a few short videos to post on FB showing beaver damage. I see lots of video claiming to be helping fawn recruitment and removing nest raiders but I don't see the numbers being quoted or actual damage footage. One thing to say but another thing to show it.

X2 to many videos assume the viewers already understand how to locate and set up a trapline, what various sign and locations look like and why animals are using or drawn to it, how to determine set location exc, along with how to set up equipment so that it’s easier to access while running a line

To many concentrate on showing catches and how they make a set not enough on why that set is in that spot

One of the best demos I have seen was all about how to pinpoint locations for fox/coyotes Ann’s what to look for in a productive area, it was fascinating but as I was walking out I was behind 2 young trappers who were complaining that he hadn’t shown how to make any sets, I truly felt like slapping them upside the head because what he had shown was a thousand times more important in my opinion, because you can make the most perfect set but if you don’t place it where there are animals you’re not going to catch anything or not much

You might do something like this: have someone send you a pic of their area of google maps, then have a beginner see if they can locate the places good for catchin yotes or whatever. After beginner "guesses" then have the trapper of the area show where they have consistently caught furbearers.

Biggest thing that absolutely drives me crazy on every trapping show/video-

"Now let me show you how I remake this set after a catch......."

Show me how you picked that spot BEFORE you caught something. WHY did you pick it. WHY that exact location. HOW did you set it. HOW and WHAT are you targeting....

Tired of watching remakes. Anyone can scrape together loose dirt, re-bed a trap, and re-bait the same hole. Waste of my time.

Would rather see- Out of 100 acres, I chose this 1 square foot to make my set. I had to leave this set here for 2 weeks before I finally caught..... THAT is real trapping.

For those 'in the know" .... "ultimately"... if you use these techniques anywhere in the country..... you will ultimately put more fur in your shed ultimately...... but check your local laws first before ultimately trying these techniques guaranteed to work on .... fox.... bobcats.... coons.... skunks... possums...... coyotes... ultimately, if you make these sets, you're sure to catch something.

And no comments about my "scope eye"....

Location, why set is made here X Mark's the spot, type of set or( SETS ) best suited for the ONE place to catch
85 % to 90% of all local's and picks on all dispersal,,,call these locations sooner or later places they come by this one place sooner or later.
A trapper is way better off imo of know how to pick spots like these than setting a bunch of picture perfect sets. can not go wrong with a video showing these things imo
