I am taking a fishing trip with my son this summer. and thinking light weight yet comfortable ways to just get some sleep before getting back to fishing.

I have though about a hammock for a while

can anyone recommend one that will hold big people and has a bug screen and rain fly.

we are both about 6'2" and just above and just below 300 pounds

I've met you and If you go with a hammock don't hang It to high off the ground. If things go bad the fall could kill you. LOL
We use to have what was called a jungle hammock. I believe It might have been military issue.

I 'm getting pretty good at taking falls , off my daughters skate board , on the ice , I don't bounce up quite as quick as I used to but I still keep getting up.

I don't intend to hang it any higher than I can get in and out of it so I should be ok as long as there isn't a pile of rocks under my head.

They have a couple rated at 300 lbs. A great nights sleep after a day of fishing.

I tried a hammock once. Getting in is easy. Getting out is something else.

Hennessy has a model that you enter and exit through the bottom. I really like it.

I am the same size of you guys. I have the Hennessy Explorer Deluxe XL with zipper. Use it 5-6 times last summer. It is different and takes a little adjustment getting use to it if they are new to you, not exactly like a regular hammock. I’m not sure if it was sleeping out under the stars or the hammock but I sleep better in it than I do in my regular bed.

See, that's one of the many reasons I love midgets. You put those wreath crown like things on their little heads, like woods fairies. Have'em sleep under ya and when the alarm goes off they poke ya with sticks and get ya right out!

you know I don't really feel that big till I see a picture of me standing next to some one or I try and get in a car and it is like getting into a clown car

my son took a picture of me yesterday with a 1/4 of beef , we cut up a cow over the weekend a 1/4 of beef looks kind of small in the picture.

I am looking at that henesee model with the bottom entry /exit no zippers seems like a good idea for me , zippers and tents and I have had some difficulty over the years

A guy down the road from me does a lot of camping.

He also is around the 300lb mark, he is sold on Hennessy hammocks.

I use a ratchet strap to attach it to the tree. Easy to adjust the tension and height. I like to hang it so when I sit down all I have to do is lean back.

I got a nice one on Amazon a few years back. I can't remember the brand. It's made of parachute material incredibly comfortable.
