But you'd think the subzero temps would keep the smell down.

Was it a rendition of one of the Hugh Glass movies? Maybe with Richard Chamberlain? Or the Centennial mini series?

several times I have read about doing this with a horse

having gutted a cow last week I a person could actually fit , I was darn near in it getting the wind pipe cut , yes I know there are other techniques but this one spent the night at zero with the hide on and hanging and I was surprised the next day it was not froze up

with the hide on there was still warmth in it as I skinned it , then it froze up fairly quick

since I gutted that one at 5 above while it was falling quickly to zero , my son says definitely not I stunk getting back in the truck

but being smelly is better than being frozen to death.

you have to wonder if you would hardly notice if you hadn't had a bath in a month any way.

Spot, start at the top. I was trying to figure out what movie I saw ,where a buffalo was killed and the hunter crawled inside.S^S started this post thinking it was an oxen or cow.
White buffalo was from 1977.

Again, The Immigrants / The New Land.
Challenge to be free was done by Chuck Keene, a local filmmaker in Juneau. It was loosely based on The Mad Trapper of Rat River.
