Canvasback2 OP trapper Joined: Jul 2016 Posts: 3,928 NY	Down to my last tub of the old Kiwi Mink Oil . Can't find a replacement Mink Oil for Leather Boots and Mittens. Is there any Company that still makes it ???

Cut off as much fat as you can, render it down and strain the clean oil off. Make your own-the best for waterproofing is the oil from the beaver oilstones.Make sure it is fresh and preserved-not rancid.No water will ever get through it rubbed on your leather boots or mitts. Just be careful or carry a gun if you're in bear country. Bears will do anything to check out the smell of rancid beaver oilstones. Last edited by Boco; 03/01/21 08:30 PM.
