Has gone cold while I was lost in a lengthy exercise on the fretboard. My dilemma is, do I use the microwave and chance the timer alarm waking the Mrs., bringing my morning solitude to an end or do I just make another cup altogether? lol

Well how'd it work out? I'd use the microwave and open the door with a second left so no alarm.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

ND FTA, some microwaves have a mute button. No beeps at all. We like it.

Yep Set timer longer and remove when it's hit your time you actually want.

A silent microwave is a million dollar idea. Like genetically engineering bugs to be filled with window cleaner. Yeah, why is it we spend extra for a "whisper quiet" dishwasher you have to put your ear on the counter to tell if it's running then when it's done it sounds like a delivery truck backing up in the kitchen every ten minutes for the next hour.

I usually try to open it before it dings also. This past year my wife bought a Aeropress and I really like it. Boil some water, pour in your coffee grounds, let it sit for a couple minutes and press it in to a cup. It’s only a one cup at a time thing but you can make it as strong and you’d like. My favorite is percolated coffee if I have time to wait for it.
It’s funny, I try to be as quiet as I can in the morning so not to wake up the wife and son, but I swear if I try to take a mid afternoon nap on the recliner, which is a pretty rare thing for me, she starts vacuuming or banging around dishes or wants to come and ask me the most random and needless questions. I don’t think I’ll ever understand women. Drive a truck for a few years and you will be able to nap on command. Even when someone is talking to you and you don’t want to hear them. lol
