If anyone has been trying to find jars, I see a local store has a large supply, at the moment. If you need some now is the time to get them! I could not find any lids/rings, however. Pint jars were about $9.50/doz with lids/rings.

Plenty of jars here but lids are scarce. We can a lot of produce each year so I was grateful to find both regular and wide mouth lids to see us through for a couple of years. Like ammunition, being in the right place at the right time was key!

Google mason jars for outdoor lighting. The people who make the outdoor lighting purchase jars with rings and lids. I picked up a lifetime supply of bulk lids from a fellow whose business made light fixtures using the rings and jars, but not the lids. This was about five years ago.

Give these people a try.

We sold 60+ dozen regular mouth lids last summer. We were buying Kerr quart jars by the dozen, for bottling honey. We use a white one piece metal lid, and didn’t need the lids and bands that came with the jars. We sold them for $2.50 a dozen, limit 4 dozen, to our honey customers. I found mayonnaise style quart jars at Rural King last December for $6.99 a dozen. ( no lids ) I bought 30 dozen....no one else was buying them.

Our local Walmart’s have been getting in a steady, but limited, supply of canning stuff.

Jars a plenty around here. I ordered 250 lids, 200 regular and 50 wide mouth through Amazon for around $60 shipped about 2-3 months ago. Glad I did. The gardening thing is big again. I got my seeds ordered through Youngs with only two items out of stock. The seeds came today, the plants as weather determines.

Farm $ Fleet is the only noninternet source of lids I've found. They're like ammo and you are allowed two boxes.

Go to the estate sale people, they get hundreds of them and most of the time just pitch them into recycling.

check Mennonite and Amish bulk groceries since they don't sell online only the people who already knew about these places and were already buying them there have access to them not every Yahoo nation wide.

Sure makes one scratch their head. Ammo, canning lids, weight lifting stuff. All rare as hen's teeth.

I'm seeing some jars with lids but haven't seen anything for lids.. I managed to buy this time last spring and found enough I think have what I need for this year. I won't be passing on buying more if see them in regular price range. I'm not afraid to use the off brand lids but haven't even seen them.

Check those lids from Amazon.I ordered a bunch that were advertised as Ball lids,,and they sent me Chinese knock off lids.Open them up and make sure the lids say Ball Sure Tight on them. The lids I received said nothing on them.I called Ball and they said DONT use them.Dont even know if they are food grade,,and they received a lot of calls like mine.Amazon refunded my money.

add doors to that list wife works for the door factory , people have been waiting 6 months for special order entry doors

there was the glass shortage , lumber prices have goon up , so much for global warming their plants that should have been south of any major snow had a few major snows shutting down shipping for days. yesterday they got notice that the TX snow storms caused enough damage to a supplier the supplier will not be able to get them that major component for a couple months. AND THEY MADE MORE DOORS IN 2020 THAN ANY OTHER YEAR by about 30% more worked overtime most of the year at 48 hours a week.

with people not spending big money on travel and tourism , cruises , vacations to far away places they are putting that cash at home improvements.

Jars and Lids are everywhere here. I only buy Ball or Kerr jars for canning, but will take the Anchor jars for bottling honey. I bought 16 flats of Ball jars and 15dz lids in the last month. Still plenty left on the shelves. My mother asked me to pick up some lids for her the next time I saw some, so I picked up a case each of wide mouth & regular lids yesterday.

We got the same knock off lids when we ordered from Amazon. I didn’t like the way they looked when they sealed. You would think making a round metal disc with a bit of rubber on the edge would be simple, but somehow the Chinese screwed it up.
