The requirement of presenting you SS# to get a license in Minnesota is at least a dozen years old this is nothing new.

I guess I don't see why or why not on having your spouse present to get the license. What's the problem either way?

Inconvenience for one thing.
I can understand needing an ID just to prove you are a MN resident. That's just common sense.
You should at the least need to prove that to vote too. You don't even need to be present to vote, but you do to buy a fishing license. I think that's hypocrisy.

You do realize you can buy your licenses online so technically one doesn't need to be present as you put it

Don't quote me but I thought I read that they wanted the spouse to come in person was to get there social security number and driver's license number on file
