Did some shopping today most items had increased in prices. 1 example, 2 weeks ago I thought about getting some romex it was $54 for 250' today $67. Had to buy necessity household items at another store, I usually pay around $45-$50 today $60.

I'm not doubting you Adam, but Romex varies in price daily. You'll notice a lot of places won't advertise a price for it... They'll index it day by day. If the latest disaster caused a run on Romex it will go up... But it may drop again in a week or two.

A buddy of mine used to wire houses for a living... They'd wire about 340 to 350 a year. The company he worked for would buy wire once a year... The contractor would wait until a day when the price was good and buy a year's worth... He would buy 20+ pallets of the 1000 foot reels of 12/2 alone.

You get a good crew put together they'll have a house roped and roughed-in in under a day. If it's a new subdivision where all the houses are mirrors of 3 or 4 floor plans, it moves fast.

When the price of gas and diesel goes up, everything goes up. Distribution is a big chunk of the price of goods and services. Elections have consequences!

crude oil is the life blood of modern life , gasoline /diesel /jet fuel /plastic/ asphalt/ fertilizer/tire's/on and on. thank a democrat the next time u open your your wallet and see less green in it .

Mike, that's very interesting, thanks. I did not know romex fluctuates like the stock market. I noticed both orange and blue box stores were close in price changes. I hope it drops again soon I need to get a bunch of wiring done in the garage. I need to run several outlets and lights move the light switch and and garage door opener.

We want a stronger and better economy so we best be ready for the outcomes. If and when the 1 trillion plus bill unfolds it will add some more fuel. We have had weather issues, crop failures and freeze outs. Lots of things can and will go up but when food goes up in the USA it is always a huge deal because due to the low prices we generally pay we spend a lot on food and food service so when that goes up it uses up a lot of money. Other nations are opening up as well and they are competing for goods and services as well.

Copper is the single most sensitive commodity there is in response to changes in the economy. I sure wouldn't be looking for the price of Romex to decline any time soon. In fact, I think we are just getting started on an upswing.

Currency supply increasing equals prices increasing, simple as that. If they try to curb inflation with increased interest rates that will have a bad effect on the economy as well; they have painted us into a corner.

Rip off! last time gas was over $4.00 a gallon prices went up on everything and it was all blamed on fuel cost we bought the BS. Problem fuel prices came down but the prices for commodities stayed up. Same thing will happen again rich keep getting richer everyone else gets ripped off and gets a bi poorer. Look at what CEOs get paid and board chairman including NRA Wayne are they worth that much and all the benefits they get. Bill got introduced to Congress so political leaders can't trade stocks or sit on boards of private companies while serving doubt it passes but would be great, talk about a conflict of interest.
