I haven't sold anything on ebay for awhile, but was thinking about it and when I logged into my account I noticed they parted ways with PayPal, and it also looked like there Fee's went up significantly, has anyone sold anything with the changes

I haven't sold anything for a couple years but was just looking myself so would love to hear what other sellers say they actually get charged for the avg sale. Doing some cleaning and decided I should just sell some of it while it's worth something. Trying to read the fee table and such......well, let's just say they don't seem to make it simple to understand! Happy trapping! ScottW

Yeah, I wasn't really into their new system, but it seems to work pretty decent. I think for me actually a bit less percentage cut than ebay and PP combined.

I think the new system is difficult to follow. After doing much searching I finally came up with what my fees are. My sales for let's say the past 30 days were $727.52 and that includes shipping costs. My eBay fees were $90.25 which is about 12.4 % of my sales + postage. I think it is a crime they charge fees on shipping cost. I do get a discount on the fees because they consider me a "Top Rated Seller".

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

A lot of the reason for that, is because people tried to circumvent ebay fees entirely by selling items for 1 penny and then making their profit on the shipping. Used to see a lot of items for 1 cent, plus $75 shipping.....

To stop that, ebay just did the knee jerk and blanket charges everything now.

Did you figure in your returns (if any) and extortion fees (people wanting x amount back or threaten with a return or negative feedback?

It's bull crap. Ebay doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit them and if it screws over a small seller at the same time it's an added bonus for them. I haven't sold anything since early december because of this new crap. I finally got hungry enough to give them free reign to my bank account today.

Do to thier globalization, the items I use to sell now only bring a fraction of what they use to. Just can't compete with the foreign competition. On top of that they can mail a package from half way around the world cheaper than i can mail the same package one state over.

The new system is not near as convenient for the seller and it will take longer to access your money. Example, I could sell something on ebay, get paid by paypal and turn right around and spend it pretty much immediately. Also having to balance the checking account every time something sells will be a pain.

I don't see much of a savings either since they have raised their rates and you get less service than you get with paypal. Plus that 30 cents a pop will add up. It will be a killer for people selling small ticket items like seeds.

I guess what ticks me off the most is how they present it like it's so great for the seller when it's really just a turd. No more paypal fees! They tout. In reality they just raised their rates and keep the money themselves.

Lastly I'm sick of their liberal agenda just like with all big tech.

Poor people have poor ways.

Me too. And I’ve discovered other online auctions that have items I’m looking for. Don’t really check eBay that often.

Your fees before were almost identical. Before ebay charged up to 10%, then paypal charged 3% plus a per transaction fee. Now ebay is handling the payments so they charge the 3% now that paypal used to. The reason they charge fees on shipping is because all of the sellers years ago that sold things for a penny and charged $99 shipping to get around the final value fees. As usual a few bad apples ruined it.

I understand why they charge on shipping, I don't like it because I never overcharged for shipping. I feel they should have come up with a better solution. I would venture to say the majority of the sellers were like me and did not overcharge on shipping.

eBay fee 12.5 % if you promote the item it’s another 5% for total of 17.5%. Is it high? Yes, but if you by something on an online auction they charge buyer fees between 10-15%. The fee charge on shipping sucks but we all know why they do it.
Bottom line you have to price your item to cover all the fees and shipping. Or don’t use eBay.!!!

Buyers have you over a barrel and the know it and they use that on many auctions today. The new thing on gunbroker is to requst sealed parts kits then claim parts are missing to get extra parts or lost parts they lost putting the piece together. I had a guy do that he claimed 3 kits had 2 parts missing out of 3 different parts kits yet the other kits in that box had no parts missing.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I always tell people go open a brick and mortar store, pay rent, insurance, advertising, employees, taxes, and utilities. Then come tell me ebay charges to much. You cant get millions of people to see an item for as cheap as you can on ebay.
The one plus to people stopping selling on ebay is there is less competition so more eyes on my items.
