In western Pa...saw skunk cabbage along a creek bottom today. One of the first things honey bees work in these parts. Skunk cabbage is one of the few plants that can generate heat, and bees will get warmed up inside the plant while they’re foraging.

Yes. Deer and elk are in the hay field, turkeys are gobbling and the new road is a foot of mud in the afternoon. Still freezing at night so early spring but surely spring.

I did see about a dozen robins last Sunday. Not sure any Canadas left this year even when Huron had ice out as far as I could see. Thousands around all winter.

Yesterday I found a fresh gopher mound and this afternoon the dog came into the house all covered in mud. I think that's a sign that spring is here.


Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Here too,,but I did get some new chicks from Tractor Supply today.Figured I better get em while they got em.They went quick last year.
