We are at a bump in the road. I think things will get better. We always go through cycles. Anyone changing the way they invest or still business as usual?

I'm running from the sure bet of the past " S & P 500" and running towards oil stocks, gambling stocks and Cannibus stocks. I'm convinced, people have lost their minds and I plan to get rich on their stupidity.

Most of my money is in index funds and I'm up 26% in the last year in those funds. I keep a little play money on the side. When the big dip happened a year ago, I moved my play money into oil, hospitality, and airlines. The shut down has been much longer than I expected but my oil is up 75% since last March. Hospitality is starting to come back up a little. Airlines - not yet but I'm staying where I am. I am expecting air travel to explode as soon as it's announced that Covid is over.
Last April/March stunk but I shifted stuff around and so far I'm pleased with the results.

I'm still a believer in real estate. When others are getting rich in the market they invest in land for enjoyment. When things go bad the land remains but can't be counted on as being easily liquidated but at least to me I know it will still be there. All the while I can enjoy and use my investments. Hunt on it, build on it, lease it, timber it or whatever. I can leverage it, watch it appreciate, get income from it, depreciate improvements, take depletion from natural resources, gain equity and trap without appreciation on it.

I like land also, BUT, it comes with carrying expenses, taxes, insurance , fences, etc.

The two best investments anyone can make right now are getting as fit as possible and learning/practicing skills that will allow you to stay alive in a hard world.

Same business as usual. Invest in myself and keep spending all the money I have making improvements. Not a penny saved yet. Maybe when I’m 60 I’ll start letting the money pile up.

Nothing wrong with not hoarding money, but you should have a slush fund. Going in debt is far worse than not saving money, unless the debt is for a long term appreciating asset like a mortgage for a home. In that case it is better than giving away your money to a stranger for rent.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
