THen you need to order from ricks motorsports, they are up in new hampshire or connecticut. They are the best there is at electrical parts. Your stator may have fried the regulator. Call them and tell them your problem. Most times they will tell you how to check to see if you have any other problems so you dont spend extra $.

I just ordered new skid plates for a 2000 Yamaha 400 Kodiak from Partzilla. E-bay has your voltage regulator for $15.75 + free shipping. In addition, someone parts out a 2000 400 Kodiak on E-bay if you're in the market for pre-owned
