Why are inmates in federal prisons getting stimulus checks?

Because they voted Democrat?

Doesn't seem like it matters much. The democrats and republicans are all in one sack and what you get is just what ever falls out.

Help us here, I’m guessing these are recently convicted, meaning they filed a return or were on assistance for them to even pop up in the system?

I highly doubt someone already serving 3 or better made the list but I could be wrong.

That's part of the story.

Prisoners weren't excluded when the bill was written and the administration tried to stop payments as the article states. "tried" , as in didn't want them receiving it but a lawsuit was upheld by a liberal judge and payments went out.

Republicans learned their lesson and tried to have language inserted into this one but were out voted.

Again, common sense would dictate someone incarcerated shouldn’t be eligible to receive government assistance but a lawyer played stupid.

Or, illegal immigrants. Stimulus checks should be going only to people and businesses suffering because of the pandemic. All the pork added that has nothing to do with the pandemic should be eliminated.

I don't think stimulus checks should have been given at all. They'll just cause inflation. We are seeing that now.

Agreed. It's amazing how many so-called conservatives/Republicans are suddenly in favor of socialist welfare when the media says "pandemic."

Remember: The only reason the government is handing out free money is because the government wrecked the economy in the first place.

Is Boondoggle a bad word or is it just when we try to lay it at the feet of someone better than ourselves. That changes to the bad word hypocrite, lol. Personally I think the whole barrel is bad apples. Maybe a good start would be with term limits of some sort.
