Not praying mantis. As a kid, I brought a praying mantis cocoon into the house and put it in a jar with holes in the top. Turns out that thousands of tiny praying mantises can climb out of the jar through the holes in the top.
But I have no idea what this is.

We have a bunch of those under the bridge I see them when im fishing the river . its a bird not sure of the name
Think barn swallow or a mag pie

Dirt dobber is what we call them. Kind of like a wasp but better That's what I was thinking. We call them mud wasps.
