jk OP trapper J Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 5,711 Williamsport, Pa.	I am amazed at the power in the new batteries. BUT I would like to use one with my ice fishing depthfinder. The battery is marked with a plus and minus I hook up the depth finder or a multimeter to these posts and it reads for a second then goes off. What do I need to do to hook the fish finder to the battery? Will it even work? I dont want to damage things(like I usually do) by playing around. Thanks ......jk Free people are not equal. Steven 49er trapper S Joined: May 2010 Posts: 10,485 MN	Yes it can be done. No you just can't hook it to the battery itself. The batteries are 18 volt you need to convert it to 12 volt. Milwaukee makes an adapter you can plug onto the battery that converts a 12 volt it has a USB port and a round port that you can plug into. The trick is figuring out how to convert your depth finder to a round plugin I believe you can find aftermarket adapters with red and black wires on eBay or Amazon which would be simple enough to connect to "Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon". I tried to hook wires to the depthfinder with soldered on brass strips put into the two contacts that are marked plus and minus on the battery and it comes on and stops right away. I don't have a clue, I haven't tried to wire mine up I was thinking about it until these new lithium 12 volt batteries came on the market. They rock. The fish finder has an internal safety thats kicking it off to prevent damage from a battery with too high of voltage. Again, thats a guess. Last edited by M.Magis; 03/11/21 10:37 PM.

Simple matter of connecting to your depthfinder. In reality I should build a set up myself. I already have the adapter to go on the batter and I carry a couple M18 batteries with me under the seat of my sled. I'm primarily using a strikemaster auger powered by the m18 drill.
