Asking price and selling price are two different things. The asking prices on there ridiculous, they’re just trolling for someone desperate. Notice all of the high price items never have any bids. And they don’t have a way to filter to only see items that have actually sold. Its no different than people trying to sell things on Craigslist for 5x the market price.

Just like the prices on the reality shows on TV. Said they paid $ for it and they say it's worth $$$ so the profit is $$. In reality since they haven't sold it it's only worth what they paid for it. All that does is drive up the price for everyone else.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Local auction $260 plus 10% and sales tax, so that's what they are bringing.

You have to remember though, if you read these forums enough, that bass pro and cabela's are the bad guys. Most places, including a lot of local gun stores, have jacked the prices up to outrageous amounts. That's why those same people line up every day outside bps and cabela's to buy them at the actual retail price to sell them for 5x more online or in their own shop. People are paying the outrageous amounts. I saw someone defending a local range that was selling a $15 box of 9mm for $75 because "at least they have it in stock for those that can't line up at a big box every morning."

Have followed Gunbroker pricing for the past few months. Most have been selling for 15 to 20 cents per round during that time (500 round bricks). To find out what they sell for, pick some items with low start prices, with bids, then put those on your watch list.

Folks making all this stuff seem to be sticking with normal distribution channels to support their retailers, so incentive remains for guys to sweep the shelves at retail price, then put it on gunbroker for 3X retail. Seems to be the case with several forms of ammo, plus reloading components like powder and primers.

Primers are sagging lower. Watched 1,000 LR primers sell for 10 cents each the other day. Once the gap closes to the point where there isn't much profit in reselling, the sweeping the shelves part may come to an end, at which time it may be possible to start finding and buying at normal retail again.

What surprises me most is guys seem to still be buying and SHOOTING this high priced ammo. Times being what they are, I'm mostly sitting on my stash till the storm passes and it's safe to come out to play again.

Yep, that is exactly what they are bringing at local auction here. Plus buyer's premium.

I am set. The only ammo I have bought is shotgun ammo. When I find it at Walmart prices I grab it. Mostly skeet,100, round cases for $21.00 I won't pay the inflated prices, don't need to. Walmart has not jacked prices. Timing is everything. I bought 1 bucket of those Remington Golden bullets a few years ago and less than impressed. Most all of my .22 LR is CCI and Federal, I have best luck with those.

From what I've seen is that ammo that actually sells is around 2 to no more than 3 times actual retail price. The one's asking more do not sell but I do believe the same people put up 4 and 5 times actual cost so thier 2 to 3 times actual cost will look like a deal and sell.

had a coworker call me the other day and said a friend of his knows a guy that owns a gun shop and can get any ammo we need. Then he said he just bought 300rds of 9mm for $300.00 from this friend. My reply was he really your friend. The i asked him why he didn't seem interested in 1000rds for $499.99 at Natchez I told him about 12 days earlier (thanks to a fellow T-Man member) he got silent then I said you seem happy to pay a buck a round 12 days after I let you know about .50 cents a round , for $200.00 more you could have gotten 700 more rounds. I just started laughing and said I'm not interested I will buy it for normal price when I see it on the shelves. Told him I don't need more ammo i just want more ammo.

Local shop has 9mm at $45.00 a box of 50. Found small pistol primers for $15.00 a 100. I’m not that desperate.

Those are bringing 50 to 75 dollars a box at local auction here. I am not shooting anything, I can't afford to.

Cannot find .22 caliber ammo around here. Picked up a 50 round box up by Groeny for $5. 1 box to customer.

It must be a function for members only. It doesn’t work for me.
