I have two fiber glass boats to do some repairs on. One just touch up type stuff, the other I will most likely wind up removing the cap to repair some stringers.

I have looked for supplies and have found Fibreglast, and Total Boat products.

Which one do you fellas with experience think is best to deal with? To be honest I think their products are really the same, but may not be. Price wise they are very close also. So I am looking for customer service and how well they will honestly offer advice.

I don't have exp with the fiberglass products itself. But I have used total boat products and really do like them. Think the price of it is high but the deck non skid I used is great.

Didn't use their customer service but total boat has a lot of videos and stuff to help out. I would try calling them and see. wish I could help more. Keep us posted. Thanks!

For all things epoxy I use West Systems. For paint and such. Awlgrip, Petit and Interlux leaders and adhesives. 3M for the most part.

Let's go Brandon

I have probably used 5 or 6 types of epoxy. This is as good as any and as inexpensive as any.

Option B:

Then there are options C, D, E, F and G, but the first two is where I would start. Both should also have a variety of fiberglass tapes, cloth and thickeners and other supplies you will need to make it work.

If working at 60F or up, use slow hardner. May take a bit longer to set, but you won't be having it go off in your hand like you would with the fast.

No mention of marine epoxy sites is complete without mention of Paul Oman. Has the most unusual retail website on the entire Internet, but his epoxy is first rate.

Thanks for the info guys. I will check it all out.

Another question now. I have used epoxy with both 1708 and chopped matt fiber. I have a dickens of a time getting it to wet out properly. Seems it breaks down or something. With normal resin I have no problems. Is there a trick or something else I am missing?
