Does anybody run a drip irrigation system? If so what brand do you use. I’m thinking about trying to collect the rain water off the barn and running it into some storage barrels then from it to the garden.
No

We use a drip irrigation from berry hill out of VA. Best birthday present I ever received from my dad. You will not get enough PSI with a rain barrel without a motorized pump. Thanks for the information that’s what I was looking at getting.

I don't use a drip hose, I use rain water I collect, I have a landscaping cloth to help hold moisture in the raised beds, and block weeds Our town water has a high amount of chlorine in it, I can keep plants alive in dry weather, but they don't thrive on it

I use the drip hoses in my garden. I attach a heavy duty garden hose to hydrant with a valve and run to the garden. Once I access the garden, I start attaching my drip hoses and have them snaked up and down my rows. I just turn it on for a few hours each night. Watch your water pressure, it may take a while to get the water to the end of the line. I have been using several hundred feet of hose all connected together for the last 3 years. There is a little rubber/plastic washer in the female end of the hose with a tiny hole, I assume to regulate pressure, these have a habit of getting clogged with hard water, spiders, dirt, etc. I remove this washer in the first 3-4 sections of hose to ensure the farther end of the hose has plenty of water and pressure to operate. I have been thinking of building a parent line, and running hoses directly off of it instead of snaking 500+ feet of hose back and forth. In theory, each hose would then have the same water pressure, thus create more even watering. It should also reduce the amount of time I'm watering as the water isn't having to travel through over 500' of hose. What I have been doing has worked for several years, and unless I get some time between work and the side business, this project may have to wait.
