Agreed.

My local dealer gets his stuff from a distributor in Dallas... But that distributor isn't getting anything to ship to the dealers.

WalMart has huge buying power and is a distributor unto themselves... If they can't get ammo to ship to their stores where is it all going?

most stores still get some ammo , however they sell out in hours even at a 1 or 2 per customer limit.

I'm not seeing that here. Most of the stores here aren't getting enough to ration...

Having said that... LOL... My local Atwood's had about 100 boxes of Hornady Match 6mm Creedmoor yesterday. Limit was 2 boxes per customer.

I don't have a 6mm CM, but gave serious consideration to my wife and I purchasing 2 boxes each and looking to trade with someone who had ammo in a chambering we needed... Or even reloading components. But I thought better of it.

Doesn’t help that several of the big sporting goods stores give their employees first shot on ammo when it come in off the loading dock and a lot of it never reaches the shelves. I know people that work at some of the big name places and they openly admit it and even say it’s store policy. Check the insanity on gunbroker and when several people are selling bricks of primers @ $250-$300 each and they have 10+ bricks for sale you know it’s not somebody just selling off their bench surplus. If everyone just relaxes for a while and stops paying their prices it I think it stops.
The moral of the whole nightmare is ALWAYS stay well stocked.

As long as there are fools willing to pay the price there will be scalping.

when I found 9mm and 22lr my wife had been waiting int he truck , when I got out there I was very tempted to send her in the store for her limit another brick of 22lr and 2 more boxes of 9mm but I also though better of it , and decided to be glad I got what I did and leave some for the next guy/gal. even though I would defiantly not have been getting it to sell.

the most ammo I have seen in many months.
one box per caliber limit on everything but 22lr that was 2 50 round boxes
prices were higher 50 rounds of fiocci balistic tips for 35.95
50 rounds of 9mm jhp 115gr 29.95
50 rounds of CCI quiet 6.95 2
25 rounds Fiocci 00 buck 13 something
50 rounds blazer bras 9mm 25 something

still no primers but more reloading bullets in stock also

I have been buying ammo for years when it was on sale of I needed some. Usually when I needed some I'd buy 2 or 3 times what I'd use. SO after may years I have a small hoard.
I must have at least 20 bricks of .22's. I don't think I ever paid over $20 for a brick. Tho I have bought a couple of the smaller 50 boxes of odds and ends type of .22 ammo.
Lots of 9mm, 20 ga and some 12 ga.

I have seen some ammo "shortages" before but this is the worst I've ever seen.

I'm at the point I don't hunt as much as I used to. I'd rather go fishing or work around the house/property.

I've talked to one of my sons and asked if he wanted any of my guns. Gave the other son a .45 and about 40 boxes of ammo about a year ago.

My Dad was a hoarder and after cleaning up after his death the last thing I want to end up like is my Dad. If my kids don't want any of my guns I might keep 2 or 3 of them and sell the rest along with all the ammo that goes with them.
Seems like now would be a good time.
