Went to the Hospital with Angio Edema February 22nd
and spent 2 days there trying to figure it out.

Early this past Sunday morning at 12:15 AM I woke up
with a severely swollen tongue and stiff jaw.

Sped to the hospital 20 miles away at 80 to 90 MPH.

By the time I staggered into the E.R.
I was gasping for breathe.

E.R. doc shot me up with steroids and IV
with blood plasma to get the swelling down.

They kept me all day Sunday and released me
on Monday afternoon.

I was planning on stringing muskrat steel
late on St. Patricks Day (yesterday) when
at 3:45PM my lips and mouth started swelling up.

Looked in the mirror and saw that my Lips were
swollen up like Forest Gump's buddy "BUBBA".

Sped back to the Watertown E.R. and went through
the whole scenario again with steroids, etc.

This AM in am trying to get a referral from my
primary care doctor to see an allergen specialist
as soon as possible.

There goes my plans for stringing muskrat steel today.

I may set this afternoon in a few open places.

Most everything is still largely frozen.

Awaiting a call back from the Doctor.

It's raining right now and due to go to 21* F
tonight with a high of 37*F on Friday.

Week end looks good If I don't end up back in the E.R.
from another allergic reactin

Nope, Never !!!

February 22nd was the 1st time
for an allergic reaction.

Doctor's figure it's medication related.

Probably Ace Inhibitor's used for
high blood pressure.

ask if a epinephrine injection set would help or Benadryl slow the reaction , or anything else you can carry in your truck , boat at home ect. to buy more time


if you get out in the boat an hour for the landing and an hour from the hospital you may need a way to buy time.

I understand you driving yourself to the ER just consider this if you'd been pulled over for speeding and had trouble talking just sayin

Scary stuff. You might want to request an EPI pen especially if you do set traps. Quick jab in the leg buys you time to get back the doctor.

Hope you get it resolved. The rats can wait, your health can not.

Lisinopril is one of the ace inhibitor high blood pressure drugs that people have angio edema with. Trust me I know I'm one of them. You need to carry an EpiPen and benedryl. Liquid benedryl used for kids is what you want it's very fast acting compared to pills. Good luck with getting referred and go out and get them rats!!!

The advise above is right on, you need a back up plan is you are not near transportation.....jk

Have not got the covid vaccination.

Not supposed to get it if you've had allergic reactions.

epi pen and bendaryl on hand for sure. Sounds like it's the new med so they can switch out your meds to another ACE inhibitor or other class of med to control your BP
