it may be a good idea to get a digital voice recorder you can keep it in your shirt pocket they have long enough battery life that you can record all day
if something is going to be your word against his , having everything recorded may not be a bad idea.
clearly the police know what is going on and know he is not to be trusted
stay safe and , don't be baited
witnesses and audio visual is good
a dash cam for your vehicle may also not be a bad idea they have come down in price
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I guess a thought I have is if you two were that close of friends for a decade and you never had any deep enough discussions to really know each other or his past and the severity of his past and time served and etc. what did you talk about? Now when the rubber meets the road all this comes up and really gets in the way of what you may be trying to accomplish. I don't have a lot of friends but the close ones I have, we share a lot as that is how we grow.

Well if any of y'all have been following my soap opera ordeal with a former friend it just got real. Law enforcement showed up in my driveway. It seems my former friend has availed himself of the internet and phone and found a reportable offense in a business paperwork error on my part. I received a warning not a citation.
But as the late Paul Harvey was fond of saying the rest of the story is the interesting part. While I initially suspected it was confirmed when the officer asked if I knew who might have called and why. So I gave him the ten year friendship, officers in the same associations, regulation disagreement followed by political and my non endorsement of his run for office.
Turns out my former friend is hated by that Dept as I learned the full details of just why my former friend did tens years in prison. I always assumed it was just a theft charge related to his brothers crimes. My former friend was a lawyer at the time.
Well there was that but the primary charges were conspiracy to commit murder, two counts. Of game wardens, no less.
Tomorrow night is our regularly scheduled club meeting and I may need to have the Sheriff send a deputy for security. WOW.If you need advise on what to do about this,,,then advise aint gonna help you.
