I'm thinking of maybe buying one. Going to test drive one tomorrow. Any input from someone who owns one or has been around one would be appreciated. I'm also going so have a 2003 FX4 level II Ranger and a real nice 1998 f150 ext cab 4x4 for sale if I make the leap.

So for 4 years I have been waiting for Ford Ranger to fix my recall on the airbags.
Next new truck I buy they are not going to tack on 400$ for recall notices to my final bill if they will not HONOUR RECALLS

maybe you may have some bargaining power with that.
Keep the up-dates coming...

A friend of mine got a new one last year-she traded it in after 6 months for an f-150.
It was a nice truck but too small for her and her grandkids.

I think my next truck will be a regular cab f-150 - 6 1/2 ft box with snow plow pkg.
I like that antimatter blue colour.

I am on my third ford ranger, two rusted out underneath. I am driving a 1999 right know. I put this one up come winter. My last two have the door behind the front seat. Great for storing item. I would like to find a new front driver seat. I checked gas millage today, 23 mpg, some of the miles were at 70 mph and others at 55 mph. I would buy another in a minute.

Had one years ago, hill pulling power was my biggest concern.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

The new rangers look good to me, but the advantages of a full size truck out weigh the advantages of the smaller trucks IMO.

This is where I would be if buying new but he already has both so knows the limitations.

Talked to an owner that put on 450 km each day (280 miles) highway commute two 70$ fills a week or 88,000 km a year. Figures in 3 years in selling it.
Before the rust hits it.
The Al body is 1000 pound lighter than my truck.

Make sure you get front and rear mud flaps.

With the current hic-up with computer chips not getting to production lines, some shortages are going to hit hard in truck sales and manufacturing.

Drove one today. Nice little truck. Way quicker than my old Ranger. Wish I knew if it would be half as tough.

Check consumer reports, my father worked for Ford. Him and his buddies told me the new Rangers aren't what they used to be. He says buy a 150

I had a 92 Ranger manual 5 speed with the 3.0...straight up bullet proof! That thing was a trapper’s dream. Easy on gas. But that was one of the best motors Ford ever made. Not so sure about this new stuff and all the pollution control junk.

I looked at one then bought a Tacoma. I really dislike Turbos and there was no manual option, that pretty much sealed it for me.

I'm surprised we don't have more Ram fans on here. My bro and I have both bought new Ram trucks recently and couldn't be happier with them. Motortrend truck of the year 3 years running.

Eh theres something about reaching over a compact truck that trappers love. My old man bought a new s10 in 83 and thats all he had till he passed in 09. Dad always said he would never reach over s fullsize to reach what he wanted!

I got a pull out bed with a topper on top. Never have to reach for anything and can lock up when need to.

That might work for some people but not me. While trapping I reach into the bed of my truck a thousand times a season. I can barely see over the side of an f150 let alone reach anything. They're way too tall. Even my 98 is too tall.

My point is I don't want to have to walk to the back of the truck, drop the tailgate and slide the bed thingy out every time I need something.
