I looked through the archives and, all I could find was the castor mound set and the baited set are there any other sets with footholds? If there isn't, is there any secrets you could share on these sets?

In Wisconsin, we can trap within 15 feet of dams is that what you meant?

if you use a dam break set make sure to use breasting sticks or he will use your trap to plug the hole. I often use blind set footholds at slides I make myself or their own sildes. Crossovers another good place. Crawl outs are good spots for a foothold too.

Yes you can trap dam breaks in WI now.
Slides and crawl outs are good options too. Look for wet ones that look fresh. Experience helps determine what's fresh but look for fresh tracks and that it is damp or muddy.
This time of year a castor mound works very well. Use the beaver lure I sent you. About the size if a lima bean is all you'll need and leave the twig you scoop with stuck in the ground at the waters edge so small waves carry the scent down stream.
The lure is just castor and sac oil I mixed and works very well.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

The only things that attract beaver to your sets ...is food...and the smell of another beaver. So keep it simple.
It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
