When I walked up to the building with all the Army, Navy, & Air force recruiting offices a 6'6 black man built like the hulk in his dress navy uniform met me at the door. He asked if he could help me. I looked him up and down and questioning said Navy right? He proudly responded yes sir. I shook my head and said no. He asked why not. My responce was " on a boat 6 months at a time or more with 3 to 6 thousand men and very few if any woman just isn't for me". He just nodded and stepped aside. Looking back I was 5'8" and 165 lb. My response could have been taken wrong and was not well thought out. That man could have over head pressed a vw bug.
