Finally got the coop where I want it. Had to rotate it 90 degrees. Made tracks out of old deck boards and rollers out of 4 inch pvc. Once on the pvc it rolls easy. Too easy sometimes. Had to make sure the tracks were level.
Also got the door to the run made. It slides up and down using a rope that will be outside the run, no need to go in.
Next up is making the run walls and supports for fencing. I also have old aluminum roofing I will use to cover some of the run. All the lumber is coming from a coworkers deck I helped to take apart.

Nice work. I am in the process of doing a similar job at the moment. Some Coop remodeling. I was able to move mine with the forks on the front loader though so had it a little easier than you

Yes, a tractor would have been nice. My only equipment option was a skid steer, but couldn't get that til next weekend. The fore cast here looks wet all week, so I wasn't sure that would work either.

Are you setting the coop on the plastic pallets?

Yup I have some of them under it as they don't rot. That way I get some air flow as well under the thing. I put a partition in it to have half coop half shed. I'll extend the roof ten ' on either side. One side for the run and the other to park the tractor under. Just made 2 new doors for it today and put in a window. I am cutting up oak slabs I made with my Alaskan mill for the lumber that I need.

That's great. I've got mine on concrete blocks, definitely helps with air flow and the floor lasts a lot longer. Grandpa had a double sided coop. One side for layers. The other to raise the replacements. He built a tool shed on the outside of the coop.
Are you going to have a roof over the entire run or just part? I'm not sure I want to cover the whole thing. Some sun in the winter might be nice.

That rope activated sliding door is definitely the way to go. In no time the chickens get trained when it's time to go in.

I had a horizontal sliding door on the first coop, that was good until the track got ice buildup.

Now I just need to teach the hens how to shut it themselves.

I'll put a roof over the whole run. But once they are a little older , they will have free range of the place till evening when its time to go in. The dog likes herding chickens.

You can do a lot with a bunch of fence posts and a couple handyman jacks I moved my fur shed 13X44 onto the slab doing that.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Aint that the truth Law Dog. You should have seen the faces of the truckers that brought my houseboat to the top of this hill. I unloaded it with the use of some tree trunks I had cut before and ready to rock, a couple of 30 ton bottle jacks, some chain and a big (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) come along . I got that 70000 pound rig sitting nicely on some white oak stumps now and I had no help to do that job either. Had it off the trailer in 2 hours and in tits place in two days

That's a nice variety. I pick up the chicks on April 14. It's our first time raising egg birds from chicks. I've always just bought layers already producing. We are getting all barred rocks.

Its a first for us as well. We have some experience with pelicans, great grits, blue herons as pet birds and some starlings I raised from naked chicks. But this is a first for us with chickens.

Nice looking coop, Scuba. That green primer reminds me of all the trim at my grandpa's. He must have got a good deal on that color.
Good looking chicks. I wish my dog would act like yours. BuckShot would eat them without hesitation.
What's wrong with the KFC paint job? Not sure what color I will repaint mine when I do. Probably not this year.
