I am currently using a pretty old, beat up fleshing beam and I’m looking for a newer one in better shape. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Don't know where in Mo. your from but I got one from Doren Miller from Clarksville that matches my Necker knife better than any I've used before.

Build your own. Use a 2X6 cut out in the shape of a large fox board with edges curved. This size and shaped beam will accommodate all pelts larger than mink, marten, muskrat, etc which are easily fleshed on their own shaping boards using a small pelt (stirrup) fleshing tool. Also build it to fit your height angling up to your solar plexus.

Do like Bctomcat said.
And you beam doesn't need to fit the shape of your knife since when your using your knife It's pretty much laying flat against the hide. The sharp side of most knives Is the convex side so your beam isn't going to fit that shape.
As long as your beam has the edges rounded off you will be good to go.

Backdrag a chainsaw for shaping the oval top side. Moves wood fast without grooves and gouging. Then the plane then the sander. Made mine out of 2x10 red oak years ago. I’d still be planeing and sanding if not for the chainsaw. Works!

Made mine out of a 1” by 7” oak board I had on hand. Saw to cut the corners then belt sander to smooth it all over and round the edges. Seems to work fine. I know that pvc is probably one of the better ones out there. I guarantee there are ones better than what I’ve got, I expect if you do some research you could find something simple and effective.

May God bless you and give you tight chains

I really like my pvc beam. I used well casing, which is much heavier than sewer pipe. It's nearly 1/2 inch thick. I agree totally with Beav on your knife fitting the beam. Not sure where that nonsense got started, your knive should only contact the beam 1 1/2 or 2 inches.

The beam contact area is a crap shoot, it all depends on how much angle you use, and you sure don't want to try and push more than a couple inches, unless your strong as an ape! Like Larry said, a couple inches is max. The problem with slabwood, is first, your working with growth area of the tree, which is softer than the heartwood, and they are usually too round. You can build or buy a good hardwood beam, made out of pretty clear oak, for a reasonable price, and. will be superior to a soft wooded beam. I had a cottonwood beam that I used for over forty years, that my only complaint was, if. you went off the end of the skirt, it would nick and scar the beam. That don't happen near as bad with a hardwood beam.

If you fibre glass your softwood beam the nicking and scaring problem is essentually eliminated also.
