Got one in January and have been itching to use it. Not disappointed! Well worth the wait. Went through 6 Beaver clean skinning the other day. I like the way it gets into the tight spots. Compact and easy to handle, also easy to touch up the edge between critters.

Thanks Jack!

I got one this year and really like mine too. I have a question, why do you leave the feet on? Seems like it would be hard to pull the hide over it.

I know what you mean left lane. I actually have pretty big hands and was kind of worried the handle would be too small but it ended up being very comfortable.

SteveR, I use to cut them off but it just added more time and trouble for me. I like having the “handles” for hauling the carcasses, not having to keep track of all the feet and it’s a lot easier on my prep knife. Saves me several minutes after I figure it all in.

I use the Lansky 4 rod system 1st:

Then steel and leather belt to finish. Also steel and leather strap for touch up between critters.

I never use the skinning knife for opening cuts around legs or doing the head. The long knife to the left in pic is what I use for that. I use bottom of blade to go around legs then top half for the head. It’s like having two knives in one that way. You can bully your way through the legs and hair with the part closest to handle and keep top part sharp for the head.

I'm really glad to see you guys are putting those knives to work. Glad they're working out for you.

I use a work sharp to sharpen and ceramic rods for touch up.

I liked mine, some how 3 of my skinning knives "vanished " from my magnet bar I keep them on. I grilled my youngest hard, but he said he didn't use them! 2 of them were Jack's knives.

Thanks guys. A slight injury pretty much stopped the knife-making for two months over the winter (danged drill press), but I'm back in the saddle now.

I've bought two of them and wouldn't hesitate to buy more. Both were nice. I gave one of them away to a guy that's helped me quite a bit in the modification of traps etc. He has been very happy with his as well.
