I got one this year and really like mine too. I have a question, why do you leave the feet on? Seems like it would be hard to pull the hide over it.

I use the Lansky 4 rod system 1st: Then steel and leather belt to finish. Also steel and leather strap for touch up between critters. I never use the skinning knife for opening cuts around legs or doing the head. The long knife to the left in pic is what I use for that. I use bottom of blade to go around legs then top half for the head. It’s like having two knives in one that way. You can bully your way through the legs and hair with the part closest to handle and keep top part sharp for the head.

I'm really glad to see you guys are putting those knives to work. Glad they're working out for you.

I liked mine, some how 3 of my skinning knives "vanished " from my magnet bar I keep them on. I grilled my youngest hard, but he said he didn't use them! 2 of them were Jack's knives.

Thanks guys. A slight injury pretty much stopped the knife-making for two months over the winter (danged drill press), but I'm back in the saddle now.
