My wood spliter had a set up like that I fired up the smoke wrench and put one on for a ball job done.

Double clevis, like was already said. Would have a little more slack and probably clank around a little while pulling it but won’t bind up like a bolt might. But in all honesty if it was me and only two miles, I’d just drop a bolt through it into my receiver hitch and put a washer and nut on it to be safe

Just a concern , be aware that it may work for a short distance at a slow speed but , that splitter may not be truly roadworthy. It looks more designed to be hauled with a small tractor.

Does it have DOT rated tires and are they in good shape ? Does it have substantial bearings for the wheels/axle and are they in good shape with plenty of grease ?

Just a concern and a possibility of a problem if not looked over to see if it is truly roadworthy.
