After a long hiatus away from trapping I am starting again because there seems to be a lot of beavers on a property I have access too. I have a few questions for you more experienced beaver trappers. This is a narrow, yet deep creek with cuttings and old collapsed bank dens along its edges along with what seem to be slides and maybe castor mounds? I have attached some pictures of what I think is beaver sign (slides & castor mounds). Can someone confirm this? If so if this sign worth setting up on? I'm thinking mostly castor mound sets with 330s. I made one set today at an existing castor mound which I added a picture of. Did I use too much blocking? Thanks for any help you can provide.

you should be able to smell the natural castor mounds if ya get down wind or swipe up some of the mud to your nose

I was taught to blend more natural, so it looks like a limb fell there or debris washed or grew at the site. BUT that could work fine. We just never know if they moved there after being pinched/missed/spooked by someone using picket fence guiding.
yours looks ok basically
did ya tune the 330's ?
did ya paint em to break up the outline some?
keep in mind the water had dropped at least 3" overnight before the pix taken

Thanks for the tips. Was this a blind set or a castor mound set?

No mound. Just lured with a couple drops of BTO or Castorium.
I had 4 sets looking identical on that shoreline.
I made 3 of the 4 trails myself.
Caught 1 beaver in each of the other sets. 2 generations living in the lake.

Some times dive sticks that are too big will MAKE a beaver go over your trap. A beave may see that a dive stick will hold he's weight, and will deside to go over it.

Too much or to much of fencing will deter a beaver, from your set too.

I dont like my suppore sticks over my trap eather.

Light grass over the trap just to break up the out line of the trap.Works for me.
I also use it for SUTTLE blocking.
Circle triggers on body grip traps are a must for me.
