There should be plenty or porkie scat under the tree... it looks so clean all the way up -that's weird. I have seen spring black bear strip maple bark to lick the sap but I've never seen them do it stem to stern.

X2 always thought they were going after the sap never seen a whole tree however my nephew had dozens of young spruce he planted stripped by porkies he trapped a huge amount of them there and couldn't explain that one either

Was back there again took another picture, if you look in the tops you can see some small branches stipped. I examined the stripped trunks and didnt see any teeth marks. Didnt see any droppings.
