Ok haters, here ya go again. Another reason to hate and a great excuse not to be a member of an organization.

I bet there is a bunch of folks just like you in New Mexico who feel the same way. Now they are begging for any help they can get.

And the BMP cavalry didn't work it's magic again.

Quote
" Yes, the NMTA supported a voluntary compliance with BMPs and a mandatory education requirement. We told the Department, the game commission, and elected officials it would not appease the antis. We knew and they stated they wanted a total ban. In that regard BMPs did not help."

Wait, I can't keep up, is this post about implementing BMP's, joining trapping organizations, or mandatory trappers ed?

I don't agree with Dave either FWIW. Giving in and getting nothing in return but a little more time before they are after more is no good IMO.

If enough you folks get together you could ask Paul to cancel me. Oh wait, you all can't get together on enough to do jack squat.

When I first starting reading through the BMPs, the first thing I noticed is that one of the best traps ever made for trapping coon was not an approved trap by the BMPs. That pretty much told me all I needed to know (although I have read a bunch more since). But saying the 1.5 coil spring is not a good coon trap is positively ridiculous.

Easy to see why states are falling like dominoes to the antis.

I think they should start their own pro trapping organization. They could call it the 100% perfect organization.com. Then we could all kick back and watch them get mad because they don't 100% agree with 1 or 2 things and they start dropping out 1 by 1 until they are right back where they started from. A big fat zero!! Always open to suggestions to make this perfect. Lol

"Under the Bill, “Everyone commits an offence who, wilfully or recklessly, b) kills an animal, or being the owner, permits an animal to be killed, brutally or viciously, regardless of whether the animal dies immediately.”

Bill C-246 neither defines those terms nor provides exemptions for hunting, trapping and fishing activities.

Since 1999, 18 similar government and private members bills have been introduced, and all but two were defeated after considerable opposition by animal-based agricultural producers, First Nations, the outdoor community, medical researchers, major colleges and universities, fairs and exhibitions, and some religious groups."

Oh! Ontario.

FYI in the last 20 years this State has had zero anti-trapping bills I believe. smile

"14 states failed, receiving an “F” grade:

Alaska
Arkansas
Idaho
Iowa
Louisiana
Nevada
North Carolina
North Dakota
Missouri
Montana
South Dakota
Texas
Virginia
Wyoming

Among these 14 failing states, 1 state stood out for what Born Free called an “epic fail.” Iowa has no prohibited animal traps, no restrictions against how trapped animals can be killed, } no trapper education requirement, and no restriction on the number of traps, to name a few of the reasons for its failing marks"

I can't believe you beat us. Congratulations! wink
