I do but I found out a few years ago not to talk about it on this board. Got told what a sorry blankety blank blank hound hunters were and how we were ruining things for trappers. lol I love to do both but an older " gentleman" on here was determined to put me in my place.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

well its nice to know there is other houndsman/trapper/hunters out there!
I dont agree with everything fellow trappers do as i dont agree with what other hound guys do but in the end if we cant get along as sportsman than the antis already have us defeated

Yep, being a hound man also, I can hardly stand myself.

Start the countdown to the babies whining about trespassing dogs killing their coons, coyotes, etc... they are out there ready to pounce like a cat on a songbird.

A couple friends of mine had coonhounds and I had a blast going along with them from time to time. Lots of fun stories. Sometimes I would hunt with them until 2:00 am and then go right to checking traps. Fun times, I was a lot younger then.

I have shot bears over hounds on guided hunts (Idaho and Maine). Very interesting, but really not for me. When it comes to bear hunting, I like to enjoy the quiet natural sounds and sights of the woods, so the noisy chaos of hound hunting doesn't appeal to me even though I enjoyed the hunts I was on. To each his own.

I had hounds but sold them a few years ago cause I didn’t have time to hunt them as much as they should be. Wish I had never got rid of them. I’m getting a hound pup next week and have a Ladner cur pup coming sometime in July. I’m sure I’ll end up buying or borrowing a good broke older dog also to help get my pups going.

I ran into a few hound guys a couple months ago while I was out checking traps. Told them where my traps were and exchanged phone numbers with them. Also told them where a fresh kill was that was only a couple days old and showed them some video of the lion coming back to it the night after he killed it. They were appreciative and told me they’d let me know if they saw anyone besides me messing around where my traps were.

I don’t know why we can’t all get along.

You gotta wonder about any man who don't enjoy a good pack of hounds.

I sold out a few years ago for health reasons. That being said, ain't nothing like a bawl mouth hound echoing across the bottoms on a good cloudy night. My buddy's send me videos, so I get my fix

As a trapper I've found some hound guys I could work with and were great people and others....well, if you can't say sumthin' nice, better nuthin' at all.

But I feel that way about all low down egg sucking thieves! LOL

Missed somethin' I guess.
No problems out this way and I love seeing hounds getting some work in.
